Optical Network Engineer

Work hours: 9 AM - 6 PM Local Philippines Time

Local travel to sites within the Philippines is required on demand (to be compensated/reimbursed)

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the remote turn-up, commissioning, and testing of DWDM optical equipment in both greenfield and live environments.
2. Execute network test plans, validate test records, and perform advanced provisioning.
3. Provide technical support during deployment, including troubleshooting, debugging, and escalation of complex issues.
4. Conduct ROADM and ILA testing, support Spectrum Manager deployments, and implement non-intrusive Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
5. Assist field technicians remotely and mentor them on best practices.
6. Collaborate with project managers, offering technical advice and maintaining detailed project documentation.
7. Ensure all deployments align with network design specifications and customer requirements.
8. Deliver timely status updates and reports to deployment managers.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in optical network deployment and remote support roles.
• Strong knowledge of major OEM products such as Infinera, ADVA, Ciena, and Nokia.
• Proven experience with DWDM systems, ROADM, and network management platforms.
• Solid understanding of network testing procedures and troubleshooting protocols.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
